A Demonstration Of Our Custom Website Design Process
In this next part of the video, we will show a few examples. This first client asked to design them a website and provided us the following three examples. They explained what they liked about the stoney creek website. They told us what they liked about this website and what they didn’t like. Next they provided their thoughts about the palm creek website. In this third website, they really liked this stack of photos and how it rotates. In step 2 we were able to set it up that way for them too. From this input, our graphics design team were able to present the following mock-ups to them. So you can see that there are a few variations in each one. They all show variations of ideas that they provided to us in Step 1. And so what they did is they reviewed these, and they liked a little bit of each, so they combined them and turned them into this working website right here.
At the time of this video, our client is currently working on the content that will replace this sample Latin content. They are now putting together all the information, videos, images, and other things they want to include on their website.
Now we have another example we can look at. The first website this client showed is is Dear Lizzie. She listed the things she liked and didn’t like. After that, she showed us this next webiste, and explained what she liked, and finally she showed this website and her likes and dislikes. My team then went to work right away and in Photoshop they designed these three website mock-ups. You’ll notice the differences in layout and color scheme for each mock-up. She liked all of them, and combined the best of all of them and we turned it into a working website which right now is in the middle of step 3. As you can see down here there is still some Latin text.
Now this next example I want to show you is actually pretty funny because the client didn’t at all like did. The reason I am showing this to you is I want to emphasize that the more detail you can give us in step 1, the better job we can do for you. Our client, in this case, did not provide us with very much. The most helpful thing she showed us was a picture of her truck. This is a mobile catering company. She wanted her website to contain the same color of blue as on her truck. She then only had one website to show us. The funny think is she didn’t really say she liked any part of this website, but showed it to us because it was also a mobile catering company. There was nothing really about it that she liked. As you can imagine, we were scratching our heads with this one.
After some thinking, my team used their creativity to come up with a few design ideas. I thought my graphics design team did a fantastic job here. I thought our client would be very pleased. To my surprise, our client was not happy with them. She was rather upset, actually. So we said, “Okay.” The main change she wanted was to have a white background. Our graphics design team then created this second round of website mock-ups. Now we have a white background website, but with a similar layout. We followed her instructions exactly, but she didn’t like these mock-ups either. I thought that these mock-ups were great too, but we had to do one more round of revisions, and ended up with this.
She is very happy with her website now, and it just what she was hoping for. It confuses me why she likes it so much, because I think it’s quite boring and plain. So, the point I want to make here, is that we will do what it takes to design you the website you are looking for.
